These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase and use of The House Sitter's Roadmap (the "Course"), sold by Tim and Sharyn Nilsen, trading as Catch Our Travel Bug ("we," "us," "our"). By purchasing or accessing the Course, you agree to these Terms.
The House Sitter's Roadmap is a digital, self-paced course covering how to approach housesitting: finding opportunities, applying, screening sits, and building a track record over time. It includes:
The Course is educational in nature. It reflects our own experience and approach to housesitting; it is not a guarantee of any particular outcome (see Section 6, "No Guaranteed Outcomes").
At checkout, you may optionally add a personal review of your housesitting profile and application templates by Sharyn, for an additional one-time fee. Drafts must be submitted for review within 3 months of your purchase date. Once you submit your drafts for review, you will receive written feedback within 7 business days of that submission, delivered by email. This is a one-time review, not ongoing profile or application support (ongoing support of that kind is part of what The Sitting Room is for).
All prices are listed in US dollars (USD). The Course is a one-time payment; there is no subscription and no recurring charge. Payment is processed securely through our checkout provider at the time of purchase.
The Course is delivered digitally. On successful purchase, you will receive access details by email, and you can log in to complete the Course at your own pace. Access is for your personal, individual use only (see Section 8, "License and Restrictions"). Please ensure the email address you provide at checkout is correct, as this is how access is delivered.
You may work through the Roadmap for up to 30 days from your purchase date. If you've genuinely given it a go and still don't feel it's given you the clarity and practical tools to evaluate opportunities and make the right call, email us at timshazz@catchourtravelbug.com and ask for a refund. No forms, no interrogation. We'll refund the full purchase price of the Course.
Refund requests must be made within 30 days of your original purchase date. This guarantee applies to the Course itself; the optional personal profile and application review add-on (Section 2) is non-refundable once the review has been delivered.
The Course is for informational and educational purposes only. Purchasing it does not create an advisory, professional, or consulting relationship between you and us. It teaches an approach to finding, evaluating, and securing housesits based on our own experience, and does not guarantee that you will be offered any particular housesit, accepted by any particular homeowner, or achieve any particular financial or travel outcome. Housesitting outcomes depend on factors outside our control, including individual homeowners' decisions, your own circumstances, and market availability in your desired locations. Results mentioned in our marketing materials, including testimonials, describe what other individuals have experienced; they are not typical or guaranteed for every student.
The Course may reference third-party platforms, tools, discount codes, or offers (including in the bonus modules). We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their pricing, availability, terms, or conduct. Any transaction you enter into with a third party is between you and that third party.
While we take care to keep Course content accurate and current, information can become outdated (for example, as platforms, visa rules, or housesitting sites change their features or requirements). We are not liable for any inaccuracy or omission in Course content. We are also not liable for access issues arising from outages, maintenance, or technical problems on our hosting platform, or from issues with your own device or internet connection.
The Course does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, visa, immigration, customs, tax, or legal advice of any kind, for any country. Nothing in the Course, the workbook, the bonus modules, The Sitting Room, or any communication from us creates an advisor-client, migration-agent, or other professional relationship between you and us.
Whether housesitting is permitted, restricted, or classified as "work" under a given country's visa or immigration rules is determined solely by that country's government and immigration authorities, not by us, and this classification can differ by nationality, visa type, and length of stay, and can change without notice. Any general information in the Course about visas, borders, or length-of-stay rules for any country reflects our own experience or research at the time it was written. It may be incomplete, may not apply to your nationality or circumstances, and may be out of date by the time you read it.
Before accepting, applying for, or beginning any housesit that involves travel, a border crossing, or a stay in a country other than your own, you are solely responsible for independently confirming your visa status, permitted length of stay, and whether housesitting is permitted under your specific visa, directly with the relevant government, consulate, or embassy of the country concerned, or with a licensed immigration professional. This applies to every sit, every time, even in a country you have visited or housesat in before, as rules can change between visits.
You remain solely and entirely responsible for all visa, immigration, customs, and travel-eligibility decisions and actions you take, before, during, and after any housesit, including any consequences of those decisions (such as visa refusal, entry refusal, an incorrectly classified stay, overstay penalties, fines, deportation, or a future travel or visa restriction). We accept no liability, and will not be held responsible in any way, for any such decision or its consequences, however that decision came to be made, including if it was informed in any way by something you read, watched, or were told as part of the Course, the workbook, the bonus modules, or The Sitting Room.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, fine, cost, or expense arising out of your own visa, immigration, or travel-eligibility decisions.
When you purchase the Course, we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to access and use the Course materials for your own individual use. You may not share your login access, resell, redistribute, publicly post, or otherwise make the Course materials (including the workbook and bonus modules) available to anyone who has not purchased it themselves.
Lifetime access to The Sitting Room is included with your purchase. We ask that members engage respectfully and in good faith. We reserve the right to remove any member from The Sitting Room whose conduct is abusive, disruptive, or breaches these Terms, without affecting your access to the core Course materials.
The Course, including its structure, lessons, workbook, bonus modules, and all written, visual, and recorded content, reflects our own original ideas, methods, and approach, and is the property of Tim and Sharyn Nilsen / Catch Our Travel Bug, protected by copyright. Purchasing the Course gives you a personal license to use it as set out in Section 8; it does not transfer ownership of any content to you, and it does not permit you to copy, replicate, teach, publish, or claim any of it as your own.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Course, including decisions you make about housesitting opportunities, visas, immigration, or travel based on information in the Course. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer guarantee or right that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Australian Consumer Law.
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Course or our policies. The version in effect at the time of your purchase will govern that purchase. We will post the current Terms on this page.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
